How long will the series be?

I'm asked this question all the time now and I honestly don't know yet.  Originally, it was going to be three books. However, I fell in love with some of the secondary characters and the world I built.  Readers send me requests for future books and I'm inclined to write them :)

Saving the Sheikh -- will be out by November, 2012 (Zhang and her Sheikh)

Now that I'm writing full-time takes me 3-4 months to get the book from outline to publication.  So, that would have my next book out by March, 2013.

Who are the highest requested characters to have their own romance?

Jeff (Nicole's driver) -- he's going to need someone special.  I've considered Alethea.  Maybe it would take someone like him to unravel why she needs that rush of adrenaline all the time.

Aaron -- he gets love from readers for taking care of his mom.  He needs time to grow up a little, though. Maybe his job at Corisi Enterprises will do just that.

Jeremy (the basement computer hacker) -- don't you just want him to wake up and realize that Alethea is not the perfect woman for him?

Alethea (Lil's best friend and security tester)-- Would Jeff be a strong enough man for her?  Would she go for Dominic's head of security?  I haven't decided.

Rosella and Thomas (Dominic's mother and their family's lawyer)-- this book will likely be the last in the series.  Some may be added before it, but Rosella's story takes the reader back to the beginning and explains so much -- and it would also reveal scenes throughout the series that readers missed because they didn't necessarily belong in someone else's love story.

Most asked questions that I won't answer. You'll have to read it in an upcoming book.....lol

What is in the box that Dominic refuses to open?

Why did Rosella really leave her husband?

Who is going to get pregnant first?

I love receiving emails from readers and your thoughts do shape where the stories go.  Thank you for writing to me, for sharing what you loved and what you wanted more of, and for enjoying the ride with me.

Gratitude

Bedding the Billionaire has spent the last 9 days in the top 100  on the Kindle ebook list. It fluctuates from 47 - 60ish.

I'm not sure I can fully express how relieved I am that it is doing well.  I left my day job in April and although one book does not make or break a writing career...I felt that this book would help me decide if I had made the right choice.

Now I know that I am where I am supposed to be...doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

And I am so grateful to have this opportunity.  I don't take a moment of it for granted.  I don't know how long this ride will last, but it has been an incredible journey and has brought so many wonderful people into my life.

Bedding the Billionaire -- anticipation

Bedding the Billionaire is in the hands of editors for one more week then it comes back to me for one more week of tweaking and fixes....

I'm excited and scared and impatient to release it.

My dream is to break the top 100 in the main Kindle store.  I made it to about 110 last time. I'm hoping my readers remember me and when the book goes up the ranks...those who have forgotten will remember,

What started out as a trilogy looks like it is becoming a series, but one that I'm loving writing.

No matter how book 3 does....I am so grateful for every moment of this ride.

Update -- writing full-time

It's been almost a month since I took unpaid leave from my day job.  It doesn't look like I'll be able to extend the leave through next year, so I'm at a crossroads of sort.

Since book 2 went up at the end of August 2011 -- I'm made over $130,000 (8 months). Sounds like a lot, but remember that you pay 35% in taxes.  Still, no complaints.  My earnings allowed me to stop trying to cram two full-time jobs into one workday.

I write M-F from 8-3 (sometimes 9-4) and then I close my laptop.  Writing can consume you and I have a family -- the reason I work so hard -- who needs me.  For me, it's an ideal schedule.  I write best when I'm most alert in the morning and at 3:00 I still have plenty of time and energy left to enjoy the ones I love.  If it never gets better than this, I'm so incredibly happy.

My goal is to get my 3rd book up on the major ebook vendors by July 15, 2012 and start furiously writing book 4. If I could have that one out before Christmas, I'd be in a much better position by the next Christmas "bump" comes.  Right now I'm paying off our bills and trying to put my family in a situation where we could survive a financial slump.

My dream?  Oh, I have a lofty goal of being able to afford to pay for good colleges for my kids. I couldn't have done that on my teacher's salary; we would have only dug ourselves deeper in debt.  Add to that equation the fact that the district I taught in is in a huge financial crisis -- threatening everything from lowering teacher pay again to not being able to make payroll.  This career change could not have come at a better time.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased one of my books or helped to spread the word about it.  You've changed my life and the lives of my children.  They now have a mom who loves her job and is full of energy again.

You can make your dreams a reality.  You can achieve those goals that you're working at.  Don't give up.  Just when you wonder if you were crazy to think you could ever do it -- that's just when something truly wonderful could happen.

I know -- I'm living my dream.  It's a humble dream, but one that I thank God every night for.
