Perhaps you should wait a while before making any decisions, or perhaps place a post on your Facebook page asking people to vote. :-) I know that no matter what cover your next book has, I'm buying it!
Thanks Chris! This is one of the difficult parts of self-publishing. A publishing house would tell me what I should do...with Smashwords and Amazon.com I have the freedom to stress out over the details....lol
I think you should get a professionally done cover as soon as possible. It will make ebook readers think this is a promotion for a hot new published author, rather than a self-published experiment. This can only increase your downloads and increase your readership base. While I recognize the "Crazy Eddie" theory of advertising (the louder and more obnoxious your commercial, the better for sales) I don't think this holds true for a pixillated, slap-dash book cover. To me, the only thing a says is: even though you think you might enjoy my story-line, inside I may not be professionally edited. I think you have succeeded thus far in spite of your cover.
By the way, I downloaded and enjoyed your book, and there were very few errors in it. So, I guess the nicer way of saying what I just said is: do justice to your book with a beautiful cover.
