After teaching Kindergarten for 10 years...I've got quite a collection of these gems:
I returned from lunch and heard that two of the boys from my classroom were at the Principal's office. I went to the office and asked the boys what happened.
First boy - I bit him.
Me - Why would you bite him?
First boy - He was making faces at me.
Me - And did biting him make that better?
First boy hung his head in shame - No, cause now I'm in trouble.
Me, to the other boy - Why do you think he bit you?
Second boy - I was making faces at him from the other table.
Me - Why would you make faces at someone?
Second boy shrugged - I didn't know he was a biter.
